5 Reasons You’re Not Reaching Your Fitness Goals

Hello,

Mika Rotunda here. I’m a strength training coach and healthy lifestyle advocate, who just so happens to also work in broadcasting and strives to empower others in their journey to wellness, every single day.

So, you’re trying to reach your fitness or weight loss goals and you seem to have the entire universe working against you. Well, trust me when I say that you are not alone. This happens to all of us. Why is this? There’s a number of things that can lead to our fitness demise, despite our countless efforts inside and outside of the gym.

With over a decade of trial, error and a lot of success in my personal journey, I’d like to share with you the five personal limiting factors that I have overcome in the past. Please, learn from my mistakes! These issues that are keeping us from our goals are referred to as something called, limiting factors. Limiting factors are the choices that we make that prevent us from getting to our ultimate goals.

These limiting factors include; overeating processed foods, using food to manage feelings, skipping meals, going on diets and even skipping hunger cues. Here are my top FIVE limiting factors that have kept me from meeting my goals in the past.

TIP 1 of 5: Lack of Preparation (week 1)

Failing to prepare, is preparing to fail. You’ve heard that, you understand that. But, you ignore that. We all do at times. It’s more convenient to run through a fast food line to grab a meal, it’s easier to make an excuse to skip a workout if it hasn’t been scheduled in your calendar and we are more likely to chose to an excuse, over an obligation. I like to call my workouts the, “non-negotiable loyalty to the grind.” Without taking time to prioritize your workouts, meal prep or self-care, you will see a reoccurring theme of self-defeat.

How can you fix this?

The NUMBER ONE solution I advise to help with accountability and preparation, is finding a great trainer or coach. Not only will they take the math work, preparation and stress out of planning. But, they will also equip YOU with the tools and knowledge you need to be successful in your journey. Your trainer will also hold you accountable to weekly adherence and monitor your progress, in turn keeping you more prepared and on track!
